This lookup returns the pet’s details and the status of the registration. It never returns the owner’s name, email address or any contact details.

Refunded registrations are marked inactive, so the credential always tells the truth.

A live registration confirms that UK ESA Register issued that card. It is not a licence, a permit, or a legal right of any kind, and nobody is obliged to accept it. The full disclosure spells out what that means.
